Tree of Life Tattoo Cover-Up – Fresh to Healed

This challenging cover-up began with an old tattoo that was originally intended to be a dagger with a snake. Dave Sanders completely redesigned the area, transforming the unwanted tattoo into a colourful Tree of Life composition while strategically incorporating the darkest parts of the original into the new design.

This video shows the tattoo freshly completed before transitioning to the fully healed result. Once healed, the colours, contrast and detail remain strong while the original tattoo stays concealed beneath the new artwork.

For a difficult tattoo cover-up, the fresh result is only part of the story. Seeing how the work settles into the skin after healing shows whether the transformation truly worked.

Father Time Tattoo Cover-Up – Fresh to Healed

This Father Time piece is a complete tattoo transformation by Dave Sanders at Renegade Tattoo Canada in Hamilton, Ontario.

The existing tattoo presented a difficult cover-up challenge, requiring the new design to work strategically with what was already in the skin rather than simply hiding everything beneath a large area of solid black. The result is a detailed Father Time composition designed to make the original tattoo disappear into an entirely new piece.

This video shows the cover-up freshly completed before transitioning to the healed result, where you can see how the shading, contrast and fine details settled after healing while the unwanted tattoo remains concealed.

A cover-up shouldn't only photograph well when it's fresh. The healed result is what proves whether the Tattoo Rescue worked.
