Meet Our Team

With 32 years of tattooing experience, Dave “Renegade” Sanders has built his career around continually developing his craft and taking on challenging, highly detailed tattoo projects.

Throughout his career, Dave has worked at numerous tattoo conventions, including NIX, the Maritime Tattoo Festival, Ottawa Tattoo Expo, and Inked Circus London. His tattoo work has also been published in Central City Ink Vol. 13, Global Tattoo Magazine Issue 81, the 12th Anniversary “Black Edition” of Global Tattoo Magazine, and Inked Revelationz Vol. 3.

Dave’s career has given him the opportunity to build relationships with tattoo artists around the world. He has hosted international guest artists from countries including Malaysia, Belgium, Germany, and Brazil, and has received invitations to guest in more than 17 countries.

Continuing his own education as an experienced artist, Dave travelled to Latvia to specialize in Hyper-Detail with Laky Tattoo, incorporating those techniques into his approach to detailed and realistic tattooing. His experience allows him to take on projects ranging from straightforward custom pieces to complex and technically demanding tattoos.

Beyond tattooing, Dave also works behind the scenes with various manufacturers, testing and reviewing upcoming and potential new products and providing his experience as the tattoo industry and its equipment continue to evolve.

After relocating his tattoo shop to Hamilton 13 years ago, Dave has continued developing his work at Renegade Tattoo Canada, with a particular focus on realistic, highly detailed custom tattoos—and projects that can get pretty wild.

Dahlia Vanderbeek began her tattoo career at Renegade Tattoo Canada as a co-op student, where her potential quickly led to an apprenticeship under Dave Sanders. Through one-on-one training, Dahlia developed her skills and earned her position as a Resident Tattoo Artist at Renegade Tattoo Canada.

With 11 years of guidance, training and experience, including exposure to accomplished tattoo artists from around the world, Dahlia has developed a versatile approach to tattooing. She excels in script work, tribal, custom tattoos, anime and flash work, with bold colour and crisp, consistent linework allowing her to take on a wide variety of tattoo projects.

Following her apprenticeship, Dahlia expanded her professional experience by working at several tattoo conventions, including the Ottawa/Gatineau Tattoo Expo, NIX Tattoo Expo, and some of the first Inked Circus locations.

Dahlia's tattoo work has also been published in Inked Revelationz Vol. 3, with additional features offered to her.

Today, Dahlia continues her work as Resident Tattoo Artist at Renegade Tattoo Canada, bringing more than a decade of training and experience to her tattoo work.

When he's not tripping around the World, you can find Robert working from one of his shops in Germany. 

  After spending years of learning European tattooing techniques, Robert and Dave met while learning Hyper-detail in Latvia. Impressed with the skill and dedication he found in Dave, Robert has since made multiple guest appearances at Renegade Tattoo Canada. He also joined Sven from Shades of Seven Belgium and the Renegade Crew at the Inked Circus Expo in London Ontario. 

  Bringing his unique and European talents each time, it is always an honour to host him. When he is not physically at the shop, though, design work is available that Dave can collaborate on.
